Présentation du projet
Ozone is a key molecule in planetary atmospheres. It shows an unusual isotopic composition that impacts many other oxygen bearing compounds, such as stratospheric CO2, nitrates, nitrogen oxides, halogen oxides, water and even molecular oxygen. The transfer efficiency of this process, IR remote sensing of ozone isotopes and our fundamental understanding of the unusual isotopic effect depend on the knowledge on the isotope distribution within the ozone molecules, which hitherto remains unclear. By combining THz with Mid-IR laser and FTIR spectroscopy, we will determine absolute line strengths in the IR and thus provide the spectroscopic data required to solve this problem for the first time. !
